Qualcomm regularly upgrades its already released premium chipsets with new features and enhanced performance. For example, most recently the snapdragon 855 plus was launched half a year after the snapdragon 855. Before this, in 2016 also, the snapdragon 821 was released months after Snapdragon 820.

What we can expect from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus?

Well, the Snapdragon 855 Plus will boost the GPU and CPU core clock speeds by ~4% and ~15% respectively. The GPU improvement made in the Plus processor better framerate displays than the standard Snapdragon 855. The 865 brings support for 144Hz displays, so extra GPU grunt could help maintain a more constant refresh rate.

Don’t expect any major changes from a Snapdragon 865 Plus, It’s just an improved version of SD 865, with new GPU/CPU. We are hoping that SD 865 Plus could drop the price for standard Snapdragon 865 chips (and therefore cheaper 5G phones). It also supports Wi-fi 6 the same as its predecessor.

Qualcomm SD 865+ Features?

The Snapdragon 865 comes with 5G technology but it does not have an embedded 5G modem. Hence, every phone using Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip support Snapdragon X55 5G modem, which means it will take more space into your smartphone. Chances are that Qualcomm might embed the X55 chip in the 865 Plus for performance gains.

Which will be the first smartphone with snapdragon 865 Plus?

According to the reports, the successor of the popular ROG Phone III gaming smartphone that released 2019 may be the first phone to come with this upcoming Chipset.

There is no doubt the SD 865 Plus model will be the more gaming-focused platform. And if ASUS launches its latest smartphone ROG 3 with other gaming phone brands then they will be competing against it, it’ll need to use this in particular.
