Redmi Note 9 Pro series will launch in India today via an online launch event on March 12th. Redmi will be unveiling two global Smartphone variants, Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. The launch event Livestream time will begin at 12PM IST and you can watch Livestream via Xiaomi India’s official YouTube channel. The Redmi Note 9 Pro series will be the successor of the Redmi Note 8 series from last year, and the company has teased that the smartphones will be having a quad-camera setup, fast charging, and a powerful processor.
Redmi Note 9 Pro series expected price in India and availability
Talk about the prices, the previous Redmi Note 8 smartphones launch under 15k and the Redmi launches always launch its Note series under 10K and 15K starting price for the Pro Version, and also Redmi Note 9 Pro will give a challenge to Realme 6 Pro. So, we can expect that it will come under 15K.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro sale will take place on Amazon.in and Mi.com in India. The handsets will be offered in 4 different color options Aurora Blue, Glacier White, and Interstellar Black.
Redmi Note 9 Pro series design and display
The Xiaomi may introduce its Redmi Note 9 Pro series with an all-new design. The concept image (seen above) of the vanilla Redmi Note 9 Pro that reveals a punch-hole display instead of waterdrop notch and quad cameras on the back are arranged in the square-shaped. Unlike its predecessor, the Redmi Note 9 Pro won’t have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. It’s likely to be embedded on the edge underneath the power button, just like the POCO X2. The device could ship with an IPS LCD panel instead of an OLED display.
Coming to the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, it may offer more premium features then Redmi Note 9 Pro such as an OLED display and a screen with a 90 and 120Hz high refresh rate.
Redmi Note 9 Pro series specifications
The Redmi Note 9 Pro is to be powered by Qualcomm’s gaming mid-range Snapdragon 720G SoC. The chipset includes octa cores, Adreno 618 GPU, and is clocked at up to 2.3GHz. It also likely ship the smartphone with at least 6GB and 8GB of RAM option. Additionally, the phones will come with ISRO’s NavIC geolocation system for accurate real-time positioning and timing services.
Redmi Note 9 Pro series cameras
For the photography, both Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max having the same square-shaped quad-rear camera setup and will pack a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor and rest of the camera are the ultra-wide-angle lens, a depth sensor, and a macro or mono lens. That’s all we know so far in the camera department.
Redmi Note 9 Pro series battery
As per the leak, the Redmi Note 9 Pro will have a bigger 4,920mAh battery compared to its predecessor. This will support 27W fast charging just like POCO X2 that is rated to charge a battery with 4,500mAh capacity from 0 to 40 percent in just 25 minutes. The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max will most likely house a larger battery cell, which is unknown at the moment.
As a software side, the Redmi Note 9 Pro series and Redmi Note 9 Max will most likely run Android 10-based MIUI 11 out of the box.
